Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye

Relics of Saint Anthony, brought back from the East around 1070, made this Isère village a pilgrimage centre and the mother house of the Antonine order, which nursed victims of Saint Anthony's fire. Its great Gothic abbey church still towers over lanes of half-timbered houses and mullioned windows, in hills rolling towards the Vercors. Viewers of a French television show chose it as their favourite village in 2025.
