Lavardens
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Everything in Lavardens bends to its castle, a massive 17th-century building with square turrets raised on the site of a fortress from 1140. The village straddles a spur in the cereal and vine country of the Pays d'Auch, with a single main street and very steep lanes running into it. Today the château is used for exhibitions and events.
Highlights
- The 17th-century château, now a centre for exhibitions and events (FR)
- Church of Saint-Michel, a listed historic monument
