Parauta
Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España
Whitewashed single-storey houses with iron-grilled windows line the winding cobbled streets of this Serranía de Ronda village, which keeps the street plan left by its Moorish founders. Much of Parauta's land lies in the Sierra de las Nieves natural park, home to rare pinsapo firs, the source of the river Verde and a circular trail through one of the park's best-kept holm-oak woods.
