Châteauneuf
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
In 1456 Philip the Good gave the castle of Châteauneuf to Philippe Pot, whose fortifications shaped the building that still crowns this hill in the Auxois. Its walls carry Pot's arms and the emblems of the Golden Fleece and the Order of Saint Michael. Around it clusters a small medieval village, while the Canal de Bourgogne runs along the valley at the foot of the slope.
