Pesmes
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Ironworks founded in 1660 made Pesmes prosperous, but the town had already grown since antiquity on a rock above the Ognon, at a crossroads between Besançon and Dijon, Gray and Dole. Ten protected monuments survive, among them the medieval walls, the château, the church of Saint-Hilaire and the Maison Royale. Visitors also come for the view over the valley and the water sports base on the river.
