The Adhémar family made this rocky crest their southern guard post, and the village still watches over the Rhône valley near Pierrelatte. Its Romanesque church of Saint-Michel can be seen from far off, and a herb garden tucked below it looks across the plain. Cars stay outside the walls, so the old centre is explored on foot.

Highlights

  • The 11th-century Romanesque church of Saint-Michel
  • The Jardin des Herbes, with views over the Rhône valley
  • Fine-weather views to the plains and mountains of the Ardèche
  • A car-free old centre, explored on foot or by bike
