Rodemack
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Monks shaped early Rodemack: in the 9th century Louis the Pious gave it to the abbey of Fulda, which traded it to the monks of Echternach, who watered the meadows and worked the land. Later the home of the barons of Rodemack, this Moselle village close to Luxembourg keeps a walled medieval core. On the last weekend of June a medieval festival brings jugglers, knights and fireworks.
