Parfondeval
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
A fortified church holds the centre of Parfondeval, a farming village in the Thiérache whose houses gather tightly around it. Saint-Médard, from the late 16th century, has a square keep flanked by two round towers. The name goes back to the Latin for 'deep valley', and the village once belonged to the castellany of Rozoy-sur-Serre.
