Caccuri
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
Every lane in Caccuri's old centre winds up to the castle, whose single surviving tower, the Torre Mastrigli, is the town's emblem. The village sits on a rocky spur among olive groves, its steep streets opening onto small squares called rughe, where the house doors face each other. Caccuri was the birthplace of the Renaissance statesman Cicco Simonetta.
