Deiva Marina
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
Fear of Barbary pirates long kept people away from this shore: fishermen worked the sea by day and slept inland by the church. The old village still gathers round Sant'Antonio Abate and a square 16th-century watchtower, while the seafront only became a resort after the railway moved inland in 1932. Coastal paths lead through vineyards and pinewoods to Framura and Moneglia.
