Briones
Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España
A hill whose northern face drops almost sheer to the Ebro carries the old streets of Briones, with long views across to Rioja Alavesa. Wine has long been the town's living, and it is now home to the Vivanco wine culture museum. Each June the inhabitants return to the 14th century for a medieval festival that restages the peace of 1379 between Castile and Navarre.
