Santa Gadea del Cid
Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España
Its earliest recorded name, Término, probably marked the old border between Castile and Navarre, and the village grew up as a fortified Castilian outpost. Walls, two gateways and a castle reworked in the 15th century still enclose it, while the Gothic church of San Pedro keeps a Plateresque altarpiece. On the church square, where markets were once held, a medieval supper is staged today.
