Ansouis

Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France

Since 1178 the lion of the Sabran family has flown over Ansouis, whose castle, first built in the 10th century, has been reshaped several times since. The village climbs a small rise sheltered from the mistral, looking over the Durance plain south of the Luberon, among vineyards and olive groves. Guided tours of the château run in summer, and a wine museum gathers some 3,000 objects of the trade.
