Montrésor
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Fulk Nerra, Count of Anjou, raised the first keep on a rocky spur over the Indrois early in the 11th century, and the village grew at its foot. Imbert de Batarnay, adviser to four French kings, later brought the Renaissance with a new château and the collegiate church. Some houses are partly carved into the yellow tufa, and the château still belongs to the Branicki family.
