Bondone
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
For centuries Bondone was a village of charcoal burners, who left for eight months of the year to make charcoal across Trentino and the Brescia area, and the trade is still named in the municipal statute. The village sits on a mid-mountain terrace at 720 metres, the southernmost in the Chiese valley, while its second hamlet, Baitoni, lies on the plain by Lake Idro.
