Tremosine is not one village but eighteen hamlets scattered over a plateau that drops sheer to the upper Lake Garda. Only Campione, a kitesurfing spot, actually reaches the shore; Pieve, the main hamlet, has a terrace hanging over the water. The most dramatic approach is the Strada della Forra, a narrow, winding, uphill-only road cut through rock tunnels.
