Castel di Tora
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
Reflected in the waters of Lake Turano, an artificial lake in the Turano valley, the village keeps the pentagonal tower that was once the keep of its castle, built around the year 1000. Known as Castelvecchio until 1864, it took its present name from Tora, an ancient Roman settlement. Nearby stand the medieval hamlet of Monte Antuni and the palace of the Del Drago princes.
