Vineyards of pinot nero, pinot grigio and moscato cover the hills around this tiny village in the upper Val Versa, in the Oltrepò Pavese. Emperor Frederick I placed it under Pavia in 1164, and the Belcredi marquises owned most of its land until the Second World War. A short stroll takes in the old lords' palace, the former prisons and the church of San Nicola.
