Monterosso Almo
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
After the earthquake of 1693 left little standing, Monterosso was rebuilt higher up its mountain in the Iblei hills, and the town that grew there is a Baroque one. Its squares are framed by the Chiesa Madre and the basilica of San Giovanni Battista, while Palazzo Cocuzza holds the civic museum. Holy Week brings a run of traditional processions through the streets.
