Oratino
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
Stonemasonry is Oratino's old trade, and the village above the Molise hills, a few kilometres from Campobasso, shows it in the carved acanthus-leaf archway of Palazzo Giordano. On a rocky crest nearby stands La Rocca, a 12-metre Norman watchtower whose door sits high above the ground, raised over Samnite walls and a Bronze Age settlement. Local painters Ciriaco and Stanislao Brunetti decorated the village churches.
