Tempio Pausania
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
Grey granite is the stuff of Tempio: its mainly 18th-century centre is built in blocks of the local stone and recalls the towns of southern Corsica. The town stands at over 550 metres on a granite upland at the foot of Monte Limbara, in the heart of Gallura, and is the area's cultural centre and a bishop's seat. Walk Corso Matteotti and Via Roma to the San Pietro cathedral.
