Lollove
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
Of the many medieval villages that once dotted the valleys of the Rio Sologo and Rio Cedrino, only this hamlet of Nuoro, in the Barbagia hills, has survived. Its narrow cobbled lanes and bare stone houses are now almost empty, having lost most of their people in the early 1960s. Local elders explain it with a legend: fleeing nuns cursed the village never to grow and never to die.
