Every year since 1970 the six districts of Cocconato, joined by neighbouring Moransengo, have competed in the Palio degli Asini, a donkey race. The hill town in the Monferrato was the main seat of the Radicati counts in the Middle Ages, and its 15th-century town hall is a rare late Gothic civic building.

Highlights

  • The Palio degli Asini, the donkey race between the town's districts
  • The late Gothic Palazzo municipale
  • Robiola di Cocconato, the local cheese
  • Santissima Trinità church on Via Roma, with its covered portico
