From the Paramuro, a walk laid along the old walls, this Roero hill village looks straight across to Alba and the Langhe. Its castle was rebuilt in the early 1700s in a classical style, to a design by Count Giacinto Roero, and since 1997 a palazzo on Piazza Roma has hosted contemporary art for the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo foundation. Vines and fruit trees fill the slopes below.
