Mombaldone

The only village of the Langa Astigiana still enclosed by its walls, Mombaldone is entered through a pointed-arch gate onto a single street of medieval and Renaissance houses, some with Del Carretto arms on their sandstone portals. Goats grazing the surrounding hills give the milk for robiola di Roccaverano, and roast fat mutton has its own fair each October.
