Torre di Palme
Torre Di Palme
Member of I Borghi più belli d'Italia
Pirate raids drove the people of Palma, a Picene and then Roman town known across the empire for its wine, up to the hill where a watchtower stood. The medieval village that grew there survives whole, 104 metres above the Adriatic, its lanes lined with brick house fronts and geraniums. A lookout point takes in the coast and the surrounding hills.
