Belcastel
Member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France
Cobbled lanes and houses roofed in lauze stone climb the steep north bank of the Aveyron to Belcastel's castle, a medieval fortress now restored and used as an art gallery. Across the river, reached by an old bridge, stands the 15th-century church. In summer the village hosts watercolour competitions and art exhibitions.
