Rubielos de Mora

Member of Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España

A powerful local nobility in the 16th and 17th centuries filled Rubielos de Mora with palaces and mansions, raised alongside its parish church and Carmelite convent within the town walls. Set at 929 metres on the southern foothills of the Sierra de Gúdar, the town was declared a historic ensemble in 1980 and won a Europa Nostra award three years later.
